Are you an experienced body shop technician/painter and looking for a new challenge. If the answer is “YES”, then you could be just the person we are looking for.
Automotive Repair Systems is one of the largest independent Mobile SMART Repair companies in the UK with over 150 mobile technicians, due to our structured expansion programme we are now seeking an additional mobile paint repair technician.
This person should ideally be based near to our head office in Orpington, but willing to travel to areas such as Dartford, Ashford, Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells, Crawley, Horsham, Croydon and other surrounding areas.

Duties

  • To carry out mobile paint repairs at dealerships from start to finish for the below scenarios.
    Covering work for the permanent technician that is on annual leave.
    Covering work for the permanent technician that is off due to sickness.
    An urgent job needs covering.

 

  • To carry out mobile paint repairs to fleet vehicles and courtesy cars at our head office in Orpington. This could include paintwork and or polishing.
  • To carry out mobile paint repairs to fleet vehicles on a mobile basis while the vehicle is working on sites.
  • Potential for occasional stay aways coving sites and helping on busy sites.
  • To assist the Fleet Manager with any paint requirements, this may include renovating van racking by repainting to ensure every one of our vans is in top condition.
  • To assist the Fleet Manager when any vans are de-fleeted, this could include paintwork repairs and de-stickering.

Candidate Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 6 months
  • Previous automotive paint experience (Preferably ATA / IMI / QAA and working to PAS 125 formats)
  • Has worked in customer facing in former roles
  • Understands filler application
  • Has great attention to detail
  • Basic Maths and English required
  • Prepared to travel on a daily basis
  • Able to be flexible with hours as our customers require
  • Good time keeper
  • Right to work in the UK

All applicants would be required to undertake a technical assessment at one of our Regional Centres before any offer is made (travel expenses are reimbursed where appropriate) and following this, if successful, further in house training may be given for our processes and procedures and technical expectations.
